Ora Foods is a family owned business with a vision to bring the highest quality New Zealand Manuka Honey products to the world. Our family background (whanau) is important to us and reflects in our relationship with our beekeepers, our staff, our suppliers, partners, distributors, and customers. We work hard together to deliver our ‘ora’ (health, vitality, wellness) products in the most purest, unadulterated form, on time, at a fair price and with the highest quality standards.

Our current packing plant was opened in 1998 and sits at the base of the beautiful Kaimai Ranges, near Matamata, in the North Island of New Zealand. Matamata (home of The Hobbiton from the Lord of the Rings) is centrally located in an area known as “The Golden Triangle” for Manuka honey which stretches from the East Cape to Taranaki and up to the Far North and is known for producing the best Manuka Honey in New Zealand. Initially, our plant was predominately packing light honey for the domestic market, our “Creamy clover” brand proved very popular in New Zealand supermarkets for many years.  As the reputation of Manuka started gathering momentum in offshore markets the lighter honey was replaced by New Zealand’s finest, dark, high-grade Manuka.
